Spiritual Spidey Senses

It’s important to keep your spiritual spidey senses alive, I think…

One of the saints (St. Augustine?) said that pagan gods are demons in disguise, and I think that’s accurate. If you look at history…the Incas and human sacrifice, the Hindus and what they do, the pagan idols in the Bible…

Islam is essentially a corruption of Judaism and Christianity together, historically speaking.

Mormonism is…oh ew, don’t even get me started.

It’s important to remember that Buddhism comes from a corner of the world and a time before the world knew God.

I’m reminded of the story Maria von Trapp (yes, the true life inspiration behind the Sound of Music) tells in her biography about after her husband dies. She felt such overwhelming grief and despair that she had not been a good wife to him that she went to visit some Buddhist shaman. After the shaman started his chanty-chanty pagan-pagan thing, she felt such an overwhelming FEAR that she got up and ran out of there.

She was in her fifties, I think.

This is largely why I have never attended any kind of religious gathering other than Christian services.

And I don’t think I ever will.

One of my girlfriends told me recently that she went on a date with a guy who made her skin crawl because of [insert things he said]. I said, Yeaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaah, that’s the kind of guy you should invite to your church. As a friend. And keep away from. And definitely do not date.

Because he hasn’t loved Jesus long enough to learn self control, give the ring and treat you like a queen.

Listen to your spiritual spidey senses.

You know it’s true love when he sends you meditations in the morning and goes to church with you.

Or goes to church on a separate continent as you wait for him. But that’s just logistics.

And then gives you the ring.

And then the wedding of your dreams.

And THEN the life of your dreams.

You know what they say…

First comes love, then comes marriage, then comes the baby with the…

And every woman deserves a man who will love her into her nineties.
