Inspired by Jaime’s blog post on phone notes, here’s an exploration of the photos currently kept on my phone. I wonder what it will reveal?

Yesterday — Paper hand turkey. First pic is of my roommate’s turkey, second is mine. Texted it to my sister earlier to brag. Really proud of how they turned out — much more artistic than I remember my hand turkeys being when I was a kid. Who knew you could take a juvenile concept and turn it into something really artistic? Also rather proud of how I inspired my roommates to get crafty. We plan to use this week to write what we’re thankful for on the turkeys, and then share at our Friendsgiving next Sunday.

A bit over a week ago — Lithops (cacti) and sign in a store display. The smallest pots on this table are the weirdest-looking succulents I’ve ever seen. So obviously I need to buy one at some point in the future. Why did I…oh yes. I took a pic of the sign because it says “Water lightly, about twice a year,” which is INSANE to think about, and the sign was right next to the kind of succulent that I own that I definitely water like every month and it seems to be doing ok, it’s not dying like all my other succulents. Maybe I should do some research on that. Sigh. If I’m really going to become an indoor plant person I should really spend some time researching how to care for these. Such a bummer that you can’t just stick something green in some dirt and leave it alone to grow…who knew that keeping plants has to be a whole science?

Two weeks ago — My mom’s chocolate chip cookie recipe. Ugh why is this cluttering up my phone I should really write it down and transfer it to my cookbook where these things belong.

Two weeks ago — Overnight cinnamon rolls recipe. Oh heck yeah…mmmmmmmmmmmm.

Two weeks ago — Buttercream frosting recipe. Ok, this is ridiculous. I’m starting to get sick of sugar just looking through pictures.

Two weeks ago — Strawberry sweetheart cookies. Didn’t I promise to make these with my roommates? Must remember to do that when I have time over Christmas break. Should really start a list of all the things I’ve been putting off until Christmas break…

Two weeks ago — Two more recipes. Both of them are sweets, of course. Come on, who cooks real food?

Over a month ago — Random picture of this quote underlined in…what was it, Walden? “The millions are awake enough for physical labor; but only one in a million is awake enough for effective intellectual exertion, only one in a hundred millions to a poetic or divine life.” Why did I like this quote? This is the problem with reading at 11:30 p.m….

Over a month ago — Multiple pictures of instructions on developing pictures in the darkroom and the necessary settings on the computer to print them in the lab. For photography class. Trying to ignore the anxiety that our prof will quiz us on these processes when I never bothered to memorize them.

Early September — Picture of school building with Armageddon sky behind it. Of all the pictures I took during that week of Oregon wildfires, I kept this picture because I accidentally captured the moon up in the orange morning sky. So dope.
